The Curse of Issyos

The Curse of Issyos is a retro inspired freeware game for Windows. The game downloaded and installed without issue and it automatically detected my controller which was nice. On my first attempt, I got halfway through stage 3 before running out of continues (damn you giant statue man!). First impressions are that it is a well made and fun to play platform hack and slash game, a la Rygar or Castlevania on the Mega Drive/Genesis (where one character wielded a spear). The retro graphics are bold and colourful and the chiptune music by Gryzor87 is also good, so I can see no reason not to recommend it.

This is really decent but challenging, like all locomalito’s stuff. Made me think of Green Beret and Ghosts’n’Goblins with a hint of Gods. Pretty much everything beginning with “G”. There’s a bit of variation in the gameplay styles as you get further in, bit more exploration. Definitely agree it’s worth a download.
