Mini Movie Reviews, May 2016

Lucky Number Slevin – 8/10 – Cool, stylish and funny. Totally forgot how things unfolded, too, which was a bonus.

Grown Up’s 2 – 5/10 – Pretty standard Adam Sandler fare with a couple of funnies and Salma Hayek looking good.

Cowboys and Aliens – 5/10 – I went into this thinking it was going to be terrible but it was actually alright. A traditional western for the most part, but intersected with occasional sci-fi elements. Rubbish story full of cliches but I think the scenery kept me watching.

Chatterbox – 2/10 – A terrible low budget movie from the 1970s about a lady whose vagina starts (trash) talking and singing. Amusing for the first 15 minutes or so but this two minute trailer is more than enough.

NSFW – contains nudity.

I’m not surprised to see Ray Purchase from Toast Of London in that Chatterbox trailer, haha!

Short and concise, lucky number 7 is a good film for sure.

Also watched Snake Eyes (Nic Cage) and Ted 2 recently, both of which were alright

Slevin was def one of the good “trying to be Tarantino” ’90s films. Weirdly, the thing I found most difficult/unbelievable about it was the way the two antagonists had their tower blocks right opposite, complete with swooping camera shot.
